mark

Mark (Pat's friend from high school) has been in Kenya now for two weeks. He leaves today and we're really bummed to see him go. We've been able to hang out, show him what our lives have been like for the past 8 months now, and he's been able to have his own experience here. (he'll be putting up his own blog post about his experience once he gets back to the states)

These are just some pictures from his trip here. He barely has left but we miss him already. Thanks for coming to visit Mark.

Fun with Br. Bedan

The other day, Br. Bedan was conducting choir practice. We got some pictures of him with the boys.

Right as I was about to post this blog... Br. Bedan walked by, so I showed him the pictures that I was putting up... He then ran and got his cd full of pictures. He said he wanted me to put a picture of him up. These are the ones we chose...

I really like this one.

This one is good too.

Bedan wanted THIS one up for sure.

Extra Picnic Day

A few weeks ago we put a blog up about the outing in the hills, where Katie and I were able to horse ride. We were able to get Fr. Seba's camera and took his pictures. These are just more pictures from the day...

These next pictures are of our buddy Hussain. We love this little dude.

Br. Eric Birthday Celebration/Dinner

One of our best friends here, Br. Eric, turned 30 this past week. The children then put on a show for him of dancing, songs, and speaking kind words about him. He is truly a man who lives a Salesian life, loves helping the children here, and is just a great great guy. We then went out to dinner with him, Br. J, and Mark to celebrate his birthday.

bosco boys

Here are some photos of the boys around the school. Sometimes they get real excited to take pictures, pose, and have fun. Other times they hide and are very shy. Luckily the other day they were real pumped to take pictures.

Langata Road Boys

The Langata Road Boys just came about when Eric wanted to start rapping. It then instantly became a Kenyan phenomena starring Eric, Aston, Mark, and Katie. I (Pat) just filmed and witnessed the glory that was happening.

We took Aston and Eric for an outing this past Sunday and enjoyed spending time together. It was fun eating some chips (french fries), ice cream, and drinking soda. It was a fun day to eat some junk food and just enjoy being out of Bosco Boys for an afternoon.

We love these two little dudes and always enjoy spending time with them.

The night before we went to dinner with Mark and Fr. Sebastian Kol. We had a really nice dinner at the Italian Restaurant in the Shalom House off of Ndgong Road.

Eric just started flowing, thus the beginning of Langata Road Boys.

Aston got intense and Katie was checking the imaginary headphones to make sure there was enough treble.

LANGATA ROAD BOYS!

By the way... we were in the back of a pick up truck. We were planning on taking a mutatu but one of the Bosco Boys trucks pulled up, so we jumped in the back. It made the rap more legit.
